Andekha Sach Series 1

What are trade level insights and why are they important?

Trade level insights are key pieces of information that give you a comprehensive overview of the performance and risk of your trades. These insights are often generated by thoroughly analyzing all your past trades individually. As a trader, getting access to trade level insights can be invaluable because it helps you make informed decisions and improve your trading performance.

Get to know more about such unseen insights with the new #AndekhaSach feature in the Samco trading app.

3 types of trade level insights you get with the Samco trading app

Samco’s unique data analytics engine provides you with unseen insights (#AndekhaSach) on every trade you make. In addition to trade level insights, you also get actionable suggestions designed to improve your trading success score.

Here are 3 kinds of trade level insights that the Samco trading app offers.

1. Trade round view

Most trading strategies have two legs. The first leg involves a buy or sell trade, whereas the second leg involves a square-off trade. The trade book of most stock trading applications only groups your trades chronologically. This makes it harder to get a comprehensive picture of your trading strategy.

The Samco trading app, however, has a unique ‘Trade Build Up’ feature that matches all your sell trades with their respective buy trades. Such categorization not only makes it easier to understand each trade but also saves you a lot of time and effort.

2. Trade level insights

Trade level insights give you a quick overview of the nature of each trade you make. With the ‘My Trade Story’ feature in the app, you can dissect each trade into the following 4 different actions:

  • Fresh initiations

All new trades that you make are categorized as fresh initiations.

  • Average up, average down, or average at a cost

If you purchase more units of an asset at a higher or lower price (than the previous purchase price), the trade is categorized as ‘average up’ or ‘average down’ respectively. On the other hand, if you purchase more units of an asset at the same price, the trade is categorized as ‘average at cost’.

  • Partially booking winners or losers

If you partially square off your open position, the trade is marked as a ‘partially booking winner’ or a ‘partially booking loser’ depending on whether you make a profit or a loss respectively.

  • Fully unwinding winners or losers

If you fully square off your open position, the trade is marked as a ‘fully unwinding winner’ or a ‘fully unwinding loser’ depending on whether you make a profit or a loss respectively.

3. Performance level insights

As a trader, you also need to be aware of the performance of each trade you enter into. The new-gen Samco trading app classifies your trades into two categories based on how they have performed relative to your benchmark index. Here’s a closer look at the two categories.

  • Outperforming trades

A trade is marked ‘outperforming’ if it generates returns that are higher than your benchmark index.

  • Underperforming trades

A trade is marked ‘underperforming’ if it generates returns that are lower than your benchmark index.

Conclusion

This sums up how the trade level insights provided by the new-gen Samco trading app help you determine the effectiveness of your trading strategies. You can use these insights to identify areas that need improvement and optimize your trading strategies and increase your success rate.
